Safeguarding

Safeguarding built into every placement.

Safeguarding is not a separate process at MFactor Education. It shapes the referral review, the matching decision, the delivery model and every review point.

Our safeguarding framework

How safeguarding is managed in practice.

Safer recruitment

Practitioners are recruited through a structured process covering identity, qualifications, employment history and suitability to work with children and young people.

DBS and suitability checks

DBS checks are obtained where appropriate to the role, alongside identity verification, right-to-work checking and references before a practitioner works with a learner.

Referral safeguarding review

Every referral is reviewed for safeguarding considerations before provision is confirmed, using the information shared by the referring organisation.

Individual risk assessment

A risk assessment is completed for each placement, covering the learner, the setting, the delivery model and any known considerations. It is revisited when circumstances change.

Home and community delivery

Additional controls apply where education is delivered in a home or community setting, including agreed arrangements about who is present and how sessions are recorded.

Lone working

Lone-working controls set out check-in expectations, escalation routes and what a practitioner must do if a concern arises during a session.

Attendance concerns

Missed sessions and patterns of non-attendance are escalated to the commissioner and, where relevant, the school, so that safeguarding concerns are not missed.

Allegations and concerns

Concerns about a child, or allegations against a member of staff or practitioner, are handled through defined procedures with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Information sharing

Information is shared on a need-to-know basis with the appropriate professionals, in line with data protection duties and safeguarding requirements.

Escalation

Clear escalation routes run from the practitioner to the Designated Safeguarding Lead and on to the local authority or other agencies where required.

Multi-agency working

We cooperate with schools, local authority teams and other agencies involved with the learner where information sharing is appropriate.

Safeguarding training

Practitioners complete safeguarding induction, with expectations set out for ongoing safeguarding awareness relevant to their role.

Supervision and quality assurance

Provision is monitored through session reporting, contact with practitioners and internal quality assurance of records and practice.

Every placement begins with understanding the learner.

Referral information is reviewed for educational need, safeguarding considerations and risk before any provision is confirmed.
